Cafe Opla

Cafe Opla – Coffee + Kitchen

With French colonization of Vietnam in the mid 1800’s, a large part of Vietnamese culture and cuisine were heavily influenced by France.

Opla is a Vietnamese word derived from the French term for fried egg, “Oeufs au Plats”.

Fried eggs were served in the streets of Vietnam with traditional grilled pork, pate, ham, and pickled vegetables.

It soon became a quintessential dish for breakfast throughout Vietnam.

We at Café Opla grew up in America, a melting pot that provided us an abundance of meat from all different cultures.
